The celestial grouper, also known as the Lyretail Grouper, is found in coral reef environments across the Indo-Pacific region, particularly in lagoons and outer reef slopes at depths of two to 150 meters. It is a solitary and territorial fish, often seen patrolling its home range while hunting for smaller fish and crustaceans. Known for its striking red-to-pink coloration with blue spots, this grouper can change color to camouflage with its surroundings and communicate with other fish.
