**Almandine**
**Chemical composition:** Fe₃Al₂[SiO₄]₃

**Info:** Almandine is the most common garnet with deep red colour and usually with purplish to brownish tint. It occurs mainly in metamorphic rocks such as shales, mica schists and amphibolites.
**Phyllite**
**Petrology:** Sericite, chlorite, quartz, plagioclase (albite), biotite are rock-forming minerals. Chlorite causes grey-green colour, sericite typical silky luster.
**Genesis:** Phyllite is a type of foliated metamorphic rock created from shale or pelite. Phyllites are usually black to grey or light greenish grey in colour. It has a good fissility (a tendency to split into sheets).
