The triclinic crystal system is defined by three axes (a, b, c) of unequal lengths, with none of the axes perpendicular to each other (forming non-90° angles: α, β and γ). This system exhibits the lowest symmetry among crystal structures. Examples of minerals that crystallize in the triclinic system include chalcanthite, hilgardite, plagioclase, microcline and wollastonite.
