3D Printer

by STEAM3D

Description

A **3D printer** is an output device that creates three-dimensional solid objects from a digital file using an additive process. In additive manufacturing, the object is built by sequentially laying down thin layers of material, each representing a horizontal cross-section of the final product, until the entire structure is complete. The printer works by melting a thin strip of plastic material, known as the printing line. This material is gradually melted and extruded through a nozzle onto a heated pad. As each layer is deposited, the material cools, solidifying the structure. The cooling process is aided by ambient air and a fan. The movement of the printing filament is precisely controlled by a feed wheel driven by a stepper motor. The temperature of both the nozzle and the material is carefully regulated by a fan equipped with a temperature sensor.
