**Speed** tells us how the body's position **changes over time**. Its unit, the **meter per second (m/s)** is one of the main **SI units**. In practice, however, the **kilometer per hour (km/h, kph)** or the **mile per hour (mph)** is also used.
When comparing the **velocity** of the snail and the ant, it can be seen that the ant covers the same path in shorter time than the snail. The ant moves at a higher speed.
In the second measurement, an ant and a snail are placed on a **conveyor belt**. When viewing the white strip on the belt, a faster movement can be seen on the ant's belt.
